The Academy’s membership consists of over 600 Fellows with distinquished careers in public management as practitioners, scholars, and civic leaders. Academy studies are performed at the request of Congress, government agencies, or foundations and are influential in setting public policy.
Description
The Analyst position is mid-level role, requiring an advanced degree and 3-5 years experience. Analysts play a critical role in all aspects of client engagements and in core organizational activities of the National Academy. Analysts are part of an integrated project team and engage in every aspect of our work, including project planning, primary and secondary research and analysis, and preparation and delivery of final recommendations. Analysts assist in coordinating, planning and facilitating joint meetings of Academy staff, our Panel members and client organizations. Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills are key to successful performance in this position. This position is under the direction of the Project Director, who provides senior leadership on each client engagement.
Education and Experience
Advance degree (or commensurate experience) required, MPA or MBA preferred
Minimum of three years work experience in the areas of public administration, consulting to the federal sector, organizational research, and/or working with non-profit organizations
Demonstrated application of analytical and writing skills within the context of one or more projects
Experience working in teams
