Alysia joins the Academy from Wexford, Pennsylvania. Alysia is a sophomore at Pennsylvania State University majoring in journalism and minoring in business and politics. As a PLEN (Public Leadership Education Network) intern, Alysia is enthusiastic about expanding her interests in business and public policy. Her leadership role in philanthropic work for First Book, a non-profit organization that raises awareness for literacy, gave her the opportunity to become Philanthropy Chair through her Pi Beta Phi sorority. Alysia participated in organizing events for Penn State University’s largest student-run philanthropy in assisting families and children with cancer. For two summers, Alysia worked as a Marketing Assistant and Bookkeeper at the H. L. Libby Corporation, where she designed brochures for three shopping centers; summarized lease information; tracked payments, and supported the retail budget management.
