Environmental Protection Agency’s National Center for Environmental Innovation's Evaluation Support Division
Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) is a new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiative designed to establish a series of multi-media, community-based, and community-driven projects to reduce local exposure to toxic pollution. Through CARE, EPA is partnering with communities to help them create collaborative stakeholder groups that use EPA cooperative agreements and other funding to select and implement local voluntary actions that reduce local exposure to toxics.
The Academy will assist EPA’s National Center for Environmental Innovation's Evaluation Support Division in developing and implementing a performance evaluation methodology for CARE. The effort will include the following activities:
This effort is anticipated to conclude in May 2007.
The Academy has appointed the following individuals to a Panel to oversee and direct the study. The public may send comments on the composition of the panel for a period of seven (7) days after the posted date to mditmeyer@napawash.org.
