Angie just entered her senior year at Virginia Tech and is majoring in National Security and Foreign Affairs. Angie is very interested learning more about how government can develop and champion transparent policies. Angie is participating in the American University Semester in Washington program. Through the Washington Semester in Global Engagement with Virginia Tech, Angie will have the opportunity work with a research team that will analyze the effectiveness of certain Department of State soft power programs. She will be interning with the Grand Challenges team, and is excited that her coursework and internship with the Academy will give her greater insights her areas of interest. Angie is looking forward to working with the Academy staff and Fellows to gain a more comprehensive understanding of public administration. Angie hopes to refine her research and writing skills and to learn about strategic initiatives that promote good governance. Angie’s goal is to enact social change as she completes her undergraduate career and beyond.
