Kathleen Peroff is the owner of Peroff and Associates a firm that does both private and public consulting. She has worked with an array of public entities, including the Aerospace Corporation, the Bipartisan Policy Center, the White House Transition Project, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and the World Bank. Peroff received four Presidential Rank Awards for her work on both domestic and national security issues. Twenty-nine years of her Federal career were at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) where she held several Senior Executive Service positions. Her last position was Deputy Associate Director of National Security where she was responsible for over one half of the total discretionary budget. She was the highest civilian employee overseeing the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, the National Nuclear Security Administration, the Intelligence Community, as well as several other smaller security agencies. Prior to that position, she served as the OMB Deputy Associate Director of Energy, Space, and Science, with responsibility for budgetary and management oversight of the Department of Energy, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Smithsonian Institution. While at OMB, she represented OMB in discussions with agency policy officials as well as other White House offices such as the Office of the Vice President, the National Security Council, the National Economic Council, and the Council on Environmental Quality as well as outside entities such as the Defense Business Board. Earlier in her career, she taught at Michigan State University and the University of Maryland.
