The submission period closed April 30, 2019. We appreciate all of the submissions that we received on WHAT government needs to do and HOW it needs to do it. We are analyzing these ideas and will announce a final set of Grand Challenges in Public Administration at our annual conference in November 2019.

The National Academy of Public Administration has launched a new program—Grand Challenges in Public Administration—to identify and address the biggest challenges that government at all levels will face through the 2020s. Grand challenges are the most compelling issues that government needs to address over the next decade, both from a programmatic and an operational standpoint. 

Over the last four months we gathered input from everyone—including practitioners, academics, students, interest groups, and the general public—on WHAT government must do over the next decade and HOW it should do it.
